I'm gonna assume for the sake of convenience that everyone who's reading this has at least some idea of what's going on in Genshiken. If you don't then this might not make a whole lotta sense to you.


GEE I WONDER WHO THIS IS

I think it's pretty interesting how before this chapter, it was plausible that this was actually the Madarame and Saki from the Genshiken we've read, and then in this chapter, which just happens to be the first one since Saki turned Madarame down decisively, we get Kio showing us an Ohno who lacks Ohno's very distinctive two beauty marks, even while making it extremely obvious that she's meant to be Ohno in every other way. Sure, it's conceivable that she got them surgically removed in between somewhere, but why do that? Hmm.

Pretty interesting, if you ask me. They're Saki and Madarame, but they're not our Saki and Madarame, are they. Hahaha.

      It's not, really. I like SakiMada a lot, but I'm totally okay with Spotted Flower being a tease and not an actual future.

    Thanks man. But a little request / question. With the first translator of this series AWOL and the site it was posted on gone, there is no way to currently get chap1-4. if you have them could you post them here? Thanks

      Good point. These were taken from Batoto, which as far as I'm aware are the same as the originals.

    This thing with the beauty marks reminds me of something I saw in the anime Cromartie High. When in the later half of the series one of the main characters revealed that his weird haircut was actually a fake headpiece. Don't be surprised Ohno's moles just randomly fall off at some point. :)
