Argghh

Does anyone know how to scan artbook double page spreads with overlapping illustrations so that I can just merge them together in photoshop and be done instead of having to redraw the parts that don't match up and then struggling with leveling one page to try and make it match up with the first one? I mean, I can do it, but it's an incredibly time-consuming process.

edit: Thanks for the comments. I think I have things figured out now.

  1. I remember in CS3 you could use the merge tool to rearrange two images at once, but that was removed in later versions.

I recommend making a very large document and placing both scans into that document and then arranging redrawing both. After that, level them together.

  2. If you're talking about photomerge, it's still in CS5, but it doesn't quite seem to work with my scans. I still get some skewing.

And yes, that is what I'm doing right now. The problem is that the raws are leveled differently right off the scanner, and I can't figure out how to sync the colors.

  3. Sounds like you need to turn of any automatic color correction on your scanner software.
