Nyaaargh

Halfway through and I'm this close to going mad.

Now I get why most people who scan artbooks don't really bother to do more than just scan them and upload as is. I could just be bad at this, but god damn this is insane.. Hahaha. If all goes according to schedule I should have this done in a week or so.

Sample under the cut, tell me what you think. This is the cover to THE SLASH, novels 6 and 7.

  1. Let me be brutally honest. Consider this only as objective, constructive criticism: it looks fucking awesome.

  2. I fail to find a word strong enough to describe the sheer emotion i'm feeling right now.

  3. Well, you could automate the whole process; all the scans are from the same scanner so the settings for levelling should all be the same. Record the action and "replay" it for each image.

    Here's a tutorial- http://blog.epicedits.com/2008/03/07/how-to-create-photoshop-actions/

  4. It's not the scanning; I was done with that days ago. I'm editing each image manually, trying to clean them up and generally make them look presentable. I also merged all the double page spreads.

  5. Not the scanning; you can automate all the edits, levels, etc.

  6. Since you've already done all the stuff that can't be automated (merging, etc.) all you have to do is run the action on one image, record it, and then run it on all of the other images.

For instance; when I used to edit, after cropping and straightening, I would create an action for levels and resizing. Afterwards, I would crop and straighten each image and run the recorded action. Saved an enormous amount of time.

  7. I know about actions, but I don't think there's one that can go over each image and automatically get rid of all the dust/glue/weird shit that got onto the pages while I scanned.

  8. Btw, Chane's right wrist has a color discrepancy right by the join.

  9. Argh, yes, you're right. I wish I actually knew how to edit instead of being basically self taught.

    Is this any better?
